SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position oversees the daily operations of the Council Bluffs Peer Center, ensuring a safe, supportive, and recovery-focused environment for individuals navigating behavioral health challenges. The coordinator provides direct supervision to Navigators, including the Intensive Behavioral Health Navigator, Benefits Navigator, and Peer Center Driver, and co-supervises Peer Support Specialists. This role is responsible for managing program schedules, planning and executing center events, and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations. The coordinator builds and sustains strong relationships with internal departments and external community partners to enhance service integration and expand access to resources. The position requires strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a commitment to trauma-informed care and recovery principles.
Compensation: between $49,200 and $62,243 per year (salary is determined by total years of relevant experience)
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred
- Three years’ experience in Behavioral Health.
- Wellness Recovery Action Planning training (WRAP) preferred
- One year of experience in supervising staff preferred
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary supervisor for Navigators, including the Intensive Behavioral Health Navigator, Benefits Navigator, and Peer Center Driver, providing ongoing support, coaching, performance oversight, and training.
- Oversee daily operations of the Council Bluffs Peer Center, ensuring smooth and consistent service delivery, welcoming environments, and alignment with trauma-informed and recovery-oriented principles.
- Provide co-supervision for Peer Support Specialists, working collaboratively with the Peer Support Coordinator to ensure peer services are integrated effectively within programming.
- Coordinate and manage all Peer Center programming, including developing, scheduling, and implementing events, support groups, workshops, and drop-in activities designed to promote recovery, wellness, and client engagement.
- Lead event planning efforts for the Peer Center, including logistics, staff assignments, materials preparation, and post-event follow-up.
- Cultivate and maintain strong community relationships with behavioral health providers, housing organizations, employment agencies, and other community partners to enhance the referral network and increase visibility of services.
- Actively participate in community events to represent the Peer Center, build awareness of services, and foster partnerships that support client recovery goals.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal departments and programs to ensure clients receive comprehensive, coordinated care across agency services.
- Provide training and onboarding for new staff and ongoing professional development for existing team members, ensuring alignment with agency values, evidence-based practices, and CCBHC standards.
- Schedule and manage all Peer Center events and workshops, maintaining updated calendars, facilitating staff participation, and supporting client outreach and communication.
- Supervise and support the Peer Center Driver, ensuring appropriate transportation support for clients as needed for center activities, medical appointments, or housing access.
- Supervise the Benefits Navigator, ensuring effective benefits education, enrollment assistance, and advocacy for clients navigating Medicaid, SSI/SSDI, and related systems.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation related to program activities, supervision, staff performance, and community engagement in accordance with agency policies and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with agency leadership to evaluate program performance, identify operational improvements, and support program growth in alignment with agency strategic priorities.
- Maintain and regularly update a personal self-care plan.
- Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the agency.
- Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
- Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
- Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
- Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external trainings
- Create, maintain and share as appropriate a dynamic self-care plan.
- Strive to make connections between the agency and the larger community whenever possible in order to contribute to the agency’s ongoing fundraising and friend-raising efforts.
